Standing in Solidarity with Hat Yai: Established Life Foundation Rushes to Provide Post-Flood Recovery and Aid Following the 2025 Catastrophe.

Following the historic catastrophic flood in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, the situation severely intensified between November 19-21, 2025. The crisis reached its peak on November 21, triggered by unprecedented levels of cumulative rainfall.

This resulted in a massive volume of floodwater rapidly inundating the city’s economic zones and residential communities, leaving many residents unable to evacuate in time. In some of the hardest-hit areas, water levels rose to over 3-4 meters.

The tense situation was further complicated on November 24, 2025, when a large volume of water from Sadao District flowed in, compounding the problem. This caused the receding floodwaters to stabilize and then expand their reach once again.

Consequently, a state of emergency was declared, effective from November 25, 2025, to February 29, 2026, to expedite the extensive relief and recovery efforts required to address the damage.

Overview of the Resulting Damage:

This flood event has inflicted severe damage on the economic hub of the southern region. The overall damage assessment is summarized as follows:

• Impact on the Public: Over 240,000 people, representing approximately 100,000 households, were affected across the entirety of Hat Yai District.
• Economic Damage: Key commercial areas, such as the Kim Yong Market and the downtown Hat Yai area, were completely cut off. Widespread disruptions to electricity and water supply systems were reported. The preliminary estimate of the economic damages is no less than 12 billion THB.
• Subsistence Crisis: A large number of victims were cut off from all communication and stranded inside their homes. The strong, rapid currents posed a major obstacle, severely hampering the ability of rescue personnel to access affected areas. This directly resulted in prolonged shortages of food and drinking water that lasted for several days.

Established Life Foundation Deploys Immediate Aid to Hat Yai Flood Victims.

Deeply concerned for the well-being of the Hat Yai flood victims, the Established Life Foundation has urgently dispatched its disaster relief team to the affected areas. The mission is to deliver immediate assistance and provide moral support to those in need.

The operation is divided into two distinct phases:

Phase 1: Deployment of the Rapid Assessment and Emergency Relief Team (November 26 – 29, 2025)

The moment water levels started to stabilize and recede, our initial response team moved into the affected zones. They carried critical supplies—meal boxes, drinking water, and essential goods—with the priority of distributing aid to the hardest-hit crisis points, such as:

• The Thanon 30 Met (30 Meter Road) area, near Bangkok Hospital Hat Yai
• The Juti Anusorn neighborhood
• Niphat Uthit 1 Road
• Prachatipat Road
• Thidanukhro School

We found many families who had endured hunger, lacking food and drinking water for 4-5 days. The moment our aid arrived, we saw smiles and tears of joy—a profound sense of relief from this crisis.

Phase 2: Post-Flood Recovery and Rehabilitation Team (December 1 – 6, 2025)

As the situation began to stabilize, the Foundation dispatched a second team to reinforce efforts in the area. The mission was to accelerate the restoration of the victims’ quality of life and living conditions, focusing on the following proactive operations:

• Distribution of Survival Kits and Medical Supplies: The team accelerated the distribution of essential consumer goods and medical supplies to provide immediate relief. A key focus was on reaching remote areas that had not yet received aid, including:
  Chan Niwet Community (along the railway tracks)
  The Hoi Muk Road area
  The Nipan Songkhro Road area
• Providing Essential Cleaning Kits: The foundation distributed essential cleaning kits for homes and buildings—items that were in critical shortage during the post-flood period. The objective was to support victims in cleaning and restoring their properties, enabling them to return home as soon as possible.
• Hands-on Volunteer Restoration: A team of 8 volunteers undertook missions to clear out mud and remove damaged belongings. These efforts were prioritized for the homes of elderly residents living alone who were physically unable to restore their properties by themselves.
